The new, re-imagined 2010 Mitsubishi Galant Sedan, which is offered in two trim levels ES and SE, is a testament to the evolution of Mitsubishi design and exceeding standards. With the need for more fuel efficient automobiles that don't lose their tenacity on the road, the 2010 vehicle offers driving enthusiasts the power and grace of the 2009, but with all the modifications of the 2010. Both trims offer the same engine specifications, but the SE has more interior options for the consummate driver.
Featuring a 2,278 cc 2.4L in-line front engine, the automobile has a 9.5 compression rate, which has an optimum 139.65 psi based on the overhead cam. The 87.0mm bore (3.43 inches) and 100.0mm stroke (3.94 in) are in complete synchronicity with the variable valve timing/camshaft.
The 2010 Galant Sedan has a multi-point fuel injection that boasts a 17.7 gallon main unleaded fuel tank, a four-speed automatic and 160 horsepower while increasing fuel performance by 11% from the 2009 and 12% from the 2008 Galant.
Another feature of the 2.4L four-cylinder is that with the 160 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, the 157 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm is paired with a Sportronic automatic transmission. This is the ultimate specification in allowing the driver to determine the amount of power behind the wheel. The Mitsubishi Sportronic design allows an automatic transmission to have manual capabilities. Since there is no clutch, the driver uses the gear paddle to shift manually.
Both vehicle models are equipped with Active Stability Control (ASC) as complimentary standards.
